Employee Engagement - Does Not Mean Free Lunches

Managers who think they'll raise the level of their employee engagement by having pool tables in the office, offering catered lunches, and crazy activities do not truly understand what an employee wants. Now don't get me wrong. Employees love all this stuff so don't take any of it away! Just know that these things are not sustainable. I'll tell you what employees want most of all and what keeps them engaged. Being listened to. Not being ignored when they have a suggestion or want to grow in the company. Employees that are heard, and listened to are engaged, invested, excited, motivated, productive.
